Futsal

                        Futsal

Hello bloggers. Every term we have a sport that we learn. This term it is Futsal. Futsal is basically indoor football. Our first session was on Wednesday.

We had to pick a ball each and we had some activities. Our instructors's name is Kingsley. We had to dribble. When you dribble you have to kick a ball lightly and make sure that the ball is not out of your reach. Then it got harder. We had to kick the ball around and whenever Kingsley called freeze we would have to freeze with the ball under our foot. Then soon Kingsley added another thing. Kingsley would call out a random number and we would have to get into groups of that many people and we have to take the ball with us without using our hands. If you didn't get into a group of that number or you didn't freeze then you have to do 5 star jumps. Then Kingsley divided us into two groups and then he gave each member of the group a number. Then he would keep the ball in the centre and call out some random number. If you are that number you run to the middle and try and kick the ball in the other teams goal.

In our second session we did the same thing but instead of just freeze and number calling there was a new one. We still had to kick the ball around but then Kingsley would call a body part and we have to stop the ball with that body part. For example if he called nose we would have to stop the ball with our nose. The as the main activity we did something super fun. Again we got divided into two groups. This time there were two instructors. 1 was Kingsley and the other one I don't remember. My group was with Kingsley. Our activity was we had to stand in a circle and Kingsley would stand in the middle. Kingsley would call head or catch and we have to do the opposite of what he says. If he called head then we would have to catch the ball and if he called catch we would have to hit the ball with our head. If you did the wrong one you sit down. We played it two times and the second time I won. So I had to go in the finals and I won that too.

I am really looking forward to more Futsal. You should try it too. I really enjoyed myself. Well that's all for today. Blog you later!

Beach Clean

                          Beach Clean

Hello Bloggers and welcome to my first blog of term 4. On Friday the 27th of October (which is also the last day of school) the seniors in my school went on a Beach Clean. We were going to Waikowhai Bay. Our job was to clean as much of the beach as possible in the time that we had. In my old blog about the Climate Change March, I had mentioned that we had made signs. Before we left for Waikowhai Bay we grabbed those old signs and stood on the sidewalk in front of our school and chanted. Then we walked down to Waikowhai Bay with some teachers and parent helpers.

Once we got there we had to get into groups of three. I was with my friends Abigail and Neeve. I also wanted to be with my other friends Ama, Zoe and Chimay but we could only be in a group of three. Then we had to buddy up with another group so of course we went with our friends. Then we were assigned an adult. I'm not sure who exactly my adult was but I do know that they were the father of one of the girls in my class. Two boys didn't have a group so they were with us. Our adult carried a huge bag for us to put the rubbish in. We walked along the beach picking up plastic. More than plastic we found glass and beer bottles. We found a lot of fishing rods and broken bits of fishing lines everywhere.

As we were picking up rubbish Ama called me over to where she was. She had found a small statue of two Indian gods. She wanted to show it to me because I was also Indian and might know who they are (which I did). One year ago when I had gone to this beach I had lost a statue with two Indian gods. The statue I had lost had a scrape at the bottom and so I looked under the statue and there was a scrape there too. That was the statue I had lost. Ama gave it back to me and for that I was grateful. We spent the rest of the time exploring hidden areas and trying to find rubbish until it was finally time to go back to school. WE walked back and enjoyed the rest of our day.

Rubbish is taking over the world. Please stop throwing here and there and put it in the right place. We all want a clean world to enjoy not a rubbish infected one. Hope this message reaches you and you do the right thing. The rest is in your hands. Well that's all so have a look at the photos below and blog you later.
